Dr. Spurgeon received his medical degree from SCNM in Tempe, AZ. He received his B.S. in biology with focus in biochemistry, and devotes much of his time scanning the medical literature for the newest discoveries and therapies that show efficacy for chronic disease.
Currently, Dr. Spurgeon focuses on weight loss, hormone imbalance, PCOS, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, autism, depression, diabetes, erectile dysfunction and low libido. He’s well-versed in hormone replacement therapy, detoxification/chelation, anti-aging, specialty lab testing and diet plans.
Dr. Spurgeon has a primary goal of determining the root cause of a patient’s symptoms, with thorough patient intakes and comprehensive lab testing. Conceptually, he practices what some now refer to as Functional Medicine, recognizing that there can be many different causes for a single condition. He has previously stated, “There are at least 36 known contributors to Alzheimer’s disease, so why would a single drug make a significant difference?”
